Lane Myer (John Cusack) has just been dumped by his girlfriend for the captain of the ski team which he failed tryouts for. In between half hearted failed suicide attempts, Lane meets a French foreign exchange student and begins to emerge from his funk.
	Like To Get To Know You Well [ Better Off Dead ] Lane Myer is on an upward path after making friends with Monique, the French foreign exchange student. Now he's come home to find her working on his broken Camero that he bought at the urging of his ex-girlfriend. 	Shine [ Better Off Dead ] Lane Myer is going to ski the K-12 to win back his ex-girlfriend who's now dating the captain of the ski team. He's not a bad skier, but his confidence is shot.
