Alex Owens (Jennifer Beals) is a welder by day and exotic dancer by night. But she really wants to attend a prestigious ballet school but she doesn't think she has the skills. She's pursued by her construction boss (Michael Nouri) and trying to survive at her exotic dancing job while trying to stay true to her dreams.
	Lady, Lady, Lady [ Flashdance ] Alex and Nick have found a love connection and spend the day together walking through the rundown industrial section of Pittsburgh.
