George Monroe (Kevin Kline) loses his job the same day he's diagnosed with terminal cancer. The only woman he's ever loved is married to another man and his son is on a downward spiral. George has always wanted to tear down his shabby beach house and build his dream house, and now there's no more time to be putting it off. As he build his house, he rebuilds his family.
