Eddie is finally playing for the big money. After learning to be an ace poker playing in small pickup games, he and his chums have pooled together 100,000 pounds to play with the high rollers. One of the high-rollers is Hatchet Harry, an old nemesis of Eddie's father who wants to use Eddie as leverage to get his father's bar. So Harry has one of his henchmen watching Eddie's cards while they play and communicating them to Harry.
While a little on the short side, this is a pretty slick montage. It covers most of the poker game, has several speed-ups and slow-downs, lots of movement and quick shots. Plus, the music really works for me, especially synching up some of the lyrics with the shots ("Liar, Liar" when they show a shot of Harry furroring his brow).
