Mr. Holland takes on the seemingly hopeless job of teaching rhythm-less Lou how to play the drum. Through constant repetition and various creative teaching methods, Lou is able to stay on the beat with his drum by the end of this montage.

It is interesting to note that here our protagonist is the trainer not the trainee as in the typical training montage. You could make the arguement that he is learning how to teach, but lets not get too deep into a minute and a half worth of video.
