Rocky has been training in Siberia but is having a lonely time. But now Adrian is there to support her man and Rocky is training harder than ever. The montage still pits Rocky and his raw heart against the heartless Drago and the Soviet training machine. In the end, Rocky shows he has the will to win and is truly ready to fight Drago.
Why have only one training montage when you can have two at twice the length? This is the same thing they did in Rocky II where the first training montage was the grueling kind and the second one was more of a celebratory training montage. Here, Rocky's standing on top of a mountain cheering instead of standing on top of the art museum steps and cheering, but there aren't a pack of kids chasing him, just KGB agents.
